About the UAE dirham and the rupee
Millions of Indians live and work in the UAE, so the dirham is one of the most common remittance currencies for Indian families, and a regular travel currency for Dubai and Abu Dhabi trips.
- The dirham is officially pegged to the US dollar at about 3.6725 AED per USD, so the AED–INR rate moves almost exactly in step with USD–INR.
- For regular remittances, compare the final rupee amount that arrives in the account, because exchange houses differ in margin and fee.

Reference rate vs the rate you actually get
This page shows the mid-market (reference) rate — the midpoint between buying and selling prices in the interbank market. It is the fairest number to compare against, but nobody outside the interbank market trades exactly at it.
Banks, forex counters, cards and money-transfer apps add a margin to the rate and may charge a fee on top, so the amount you receive or pay is usually less favourable. Before any transaction, ask for the final amount in rupees, and compare two or three providers.
Frequently asked questions
What is the AED to INR exchange rate today?
The live reference rate is shown just under the converter together with the date it was published. Rates move during the day and the free feeds we use update about once a day, so treat it as a close guide rather than a quote you can transact at.
Why is my bank’s or forex dealer’s rate different?
The converter shows the mid-market rate. Banks and money-transfer services add their own margin and often a fee, so the amount you actually get is normally a little lower. Compare the final amount, not just the headline rate.
How much is 100 UAE dirhams in rupees?
Use the quick-reference table on this page: it recalculates with the latest rate for 1, 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 and 1,00,000 UAE dirhams.
Can I use this for invoices, tax or customs?
Use it for estimates. For invoices, tax filing or customs, use the rate your bank gives you or the rate officially notified for that purpose (for example, the customs exchange rate notified by CBIC for imports and exports).
Does the rate update in real time?
The page fetches the latest published rate each time you open it (and keeps a saved copy for 30 minutes). The free sources we use publish roughly once a day, so it is not a tick-by-tick trading price.
