Make a PDF smaller for forms and email, privately, without uploading it.

PDF compressor

Private: stays on your device

Choose a PDF, then press Compress.

Each page is turned into a compressed image, so the text in the new PDF cannot be selected or searched. Keep your original file if you need that. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

The tool opens your PDF inside your browser, redraws each page as a smaller image and builds a new PDF from those pages. Scanned documents, photos and certificates shrink the most. A PDF that is mostly text may not get smaller.

Tips for upload limits

  • Try Medium first; use Strong if the portal’s limit is still exceeded.
  • Large scans can be slow on old phones; a computer is faster.
  • Check the result is readable before you upload it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Compression happens in your browser; the file never leaves your device.

Why can’t I select text in the compressed PDF?

Pages are saved as images to make the file small. Keep the original if you need searchable text.

Why did the file not get smaller?

Text-only PDFs are already compact. In that case the tool tells you to keep the original.
